Our Story

HOW THEY MET

Tony and Uzo officially met in April 2025 in Lagos, after having been acquainted for years. Uzo was in the country for a few weddings and searching for a space for her Owambe exhibition when the two finally connected.

They quickly became inseparable; going from dinner dates to office dates, gym dates, and being each other’s plus-ones to more than a few events, all within the span of a month. The chemistry was undeniable, and what started in Lagos soon followed them to London, where Tony asked Uzo to be his girlfriend in May 2025.

Not long after, they celebrated their new relationship with a two-week getaway to Barbados; a place that would eventually become part of their story in an even bigger way.

THE PROPOSAL

Itching for a Euro summer, the couple spent July 2026 traveling through nine countries. During their stay in Montenegro, they took a gondola to the top of Kotor, where they watched the city lights flicker below them in the distance. With Kotor glowing beneath them, Tony got down on one knee and asked Uzo to marry him.
